Further names expected on wrap collaboration

Another two or three well-known providers are expected to soon join the collaboration exercise just announced by Standard Life and Friends Provident in the area of wrap platforms.

The announcement means the two companies will in future offer access to legacy data on each others’ platforms on the basis of contract inquiry IT standards developed by industry body Origo. John Taylor, marketing director at Standard Life, said the two providers were keen to ensure the news was greeted as an industry-wide initiative, not just as a deal between two players at the expense of others. He expects two or three other major companies to join the initiative in coming months, and hopes it builds up a sufficient “critical mass” so those remaining outside see increasing incentive...
