At least nineteen out of 20 people believe more needs to be done to educate consumers about personal finance, suggests research commissioned by Norwich Union.
A study of 40-50 year olds concludes 94% of those questioned think more is needed, particularly as 57% say they worry about their own finances at least once a week.That said, almost nine out of 10 recognise it is people’s own responsibility to do something about it. However, the problem may be finance is still seen as too complicated for a person to tackle on their own, suggests NU, as 81% say there are some areas difficult to grasp and half of those questioned admit the complexity of products has put them off dealing with their own financial needs.
