Financials lead FTSE rally

The FTSE closed today with a rise of 101.45 points (1.99%) to 6197.02 as financial stocks saw the biggest gains.

Old Mutual is top of the leaderboard, rocketing 9.8p (12.56%) to 87.8p, while Royal & Sun Alliance Group is hot on its heels, adding 15.9p (11.08%) to 159.4p. Aviva is up 9.92% to 540p and Prudential has climbed 8.46% to 577p. Legal and General Group also saw gains of 7.8% to 107.8p. However, Eurasian has slipped 40.5p (6.38%) to 594.5p, while Man Group has lost 6.19% to 382.75. London Stock Exchange Group, British Airways and Tui Travel have also seen their share price decrease 4-6%.
