FTSE and Dow sluggish as market confidence drops

The FTSE dropped 36.6 points, or 0.59%, this morning to 6183.5.

Punch Taverns rose 18 points, or 1.72%, to 1066p. Drax rose 8.5 points, or 1.34%, to 643p. British Airways rose five points, or 1.22%, to 414.25p. Cadbury Schweppes rose four points, or 0.7%, to 573p. Invesco rose 3.5 points, or 0.58%, to 603p. Alliance & Leicester fell 21 points, or 2%, to 1028p. Lonmin fell 62 points, or 1.95%, to 3110p. Schroders fell 19 points, or 1.64%, to 1138p. Barclays fell 9.5 points, or 1.55%, to 601.5p. Wolesley fell 16 points, or 1.52%, to 1034p.
