FTSE falls on Carphone Warehouse market share fears

The FTSE fell 8.5 points, or 0.14%, to 6020.7p this afternoon as fears over Carphone Warehouse Group' s share of the mobile phone market kept it at the top of the losers list.

The retailer dropped 23.75 points, or 7%, to 315.75p. British Airways fell 8.5 points, or 2.67%, to 309.5p after JP Morgan predicted a fall in next year’s profits. Royal Bank of Scotland Group rose 16.5 points, or 4.24%, to 405.25p while Taylor Wimpey rose 7.75 points, or 4.02%, to 200.75p. The Dow Jones fell 55.52 points, or 0.44%, to 12687.67c as American Express dropped 1.52 points, or 3.06%. General Motors fell 0.61 points, or 2.1%, to 28.37c. Merck & Co. rose 1.4 points, or 3.04%, to 47.38c while Procter Gamble followed, rising 0.74 points, or 1.12%, to 66.79c. To comment o...
