Markets recover thanks to cash injection

The markets recovered this morning from the symptoms of global credit fears after world banks pumped extra money into banking systems.

The FTSE opened this morning at 6116.4 after rising 78.1 points, or 1.29%. Kazakhmys rose 64 points, or 5.91%, to 1146p. Drax rose 32 points, or 5.15%, to 653p. Daily Mail and General Trust rose 29.5 points, or 4.6%, to 670.5p. Antofagasta rose 28.5 points, or 4.6%, to 648.5p. Resolution rose 26 points, or 4.15%, to 652p. ICAP fell 13.25 points, or 2.7%, to 476.75p. Kingfisher fell five points, or 2.33%, to 210p. Hammerson fell 15 points, or 1.2%, to 1240p. Reckitt Benckiser fell 31 points, 1.13%, to 2724p.
