Rathbone sells part of banking arm to Butterfield

Rathbone Investment Management has sold part of its UK private banking business to Butterfield Private Bank.

The deal, which includes a loan book of £33m and deposits of £9m, was formalised on 5 January and will see three key members of the Rathbone private banking team join Butterfield. Keith Brown, senior manager, Simon White, manager and Francesca Sokoli, client relationship officer, will all join Butterfield following the deal in an effort to “further strengthen Butterfield’s private banking team”.
