Aviva clashes with Which? over assets - papers 3rd February

BRITAIN'S BIGGEST insurer was yesterday squaring up for a battle with the country's most powerful consumer body over the break-up of £3.3bn worth of assets, reports The Times .

According to the paper, Aviva is investigating the possibility of distributing the excess assets from two of its with-profits funds to shareholders and policyholders. As many as 1.4m policyholders could receive a windfall if the re-attribution goes ahead. But a fight is brewing between the insurance giant and Which?, over how the assets, known as the inherited estate, are carved up.
