Bank of England hit by "phishing" scam

Officials at the bank received around 100,000 emails on Monday evening in reply to an email – said to have come from [email protected] – requesting the individual log into an online banking system and download software which was designed to prevent credit card fraud. The reality, however, is anyone downloading such software was then likely to disclose financial and personal details without even knowing it.
