Scottish Widows has urged the Government to introduce better pensions incentives for women, despite a slight narrowing of the pensions gender gap.
The firm’s fourth annual Women and Pensions Report reveals women are still falling far short of men when it comes to pensions saving. It found 55% of men are saving adequately, compared to only 46% of women. Despite a 5% rise in women saving for retirement compared with 2007, Scottish Widows still believes the Government should review pension incentives to encourage more women to build up pensions in their own right.
