The FTSE 100 is down 18.6 points, or 0.31%, to 6,054.1, with mining stocks leading the decline.
Rio Tinto is down 2.08% to £25.37, closely followed by Vedanta resources which has slipped 1.65% to £12.54, while Antofagasta has fallen 1.45% to 475.5p as copper prices in Shanghai fell. However the biggest drag on the index so far is Shire Group with a drop of 2.91% to 933p, while steelmaker Corus is down 2.82% to 465.5p, although losses are being limited by Prudential which is up 0.88% to 633p. Wolseley is posting the biggest gains so far with a rise of 1.4% to £12.28, closely followed by British Sky Broadcasting which is up 1.09% to 555p, while Kingfisher has climbed 0.87% to 260.25p...
