An IFA has attacked the Government for a lack of effort in communicating simplification changes, leaving thousands of pension holders ignorant of how A-Day will affect them.
With a year to go before A-day on 6 April 2006, Grant Thornton says the new rules will ensure greater flexibility along with few limits on tax arrangements. Richard Harwood, head of pensions group at Grant Thornton says: “The aim of the changes is simplification, however so far the Government has done a poor job of letting people know how the changes will affect them.” He adds that a great number of individuals believe pension simplification will only affect people with large pension pots.
