Govt should apply TCF to personal accounts - IFAs

IFAs say the Government should treat customers fairly (TCF) when setting up personal accounts through auto-enrolment.

A poll run by Scottish Life’s head of pensions strategy Steve Bee found more than 96% of IFAs surveyed believe the Government should apply TCF to the proposed system. One IFA says on Bee's website, Beehive: "The adviser community cannot be asked to do one thing and the government in the same circumstances just ignore it." Another IFA says: "Surely it is in the interests of every government to be seen to be treating its citizens fairly. Anything other than following the principles of TCF by the government would be construed as unfair and therefore questionable as to its suitability." An...
