SLI launches offshore India fund

Standard Life Investments (SLI) has launched an India Equity SICAV fund which it aims to distribute to UK investors for Q1 2008.

Structured as a sub-fund of the SLI Global SICAV (domiciled in Luxembourg), the fund will consist of a concentrated portfolio of between 20-35 ‘highest conviction’ stocks. The fund will be managed by Michael Dow, investment director at SLI, who has nearly 20 years experience in investing in emerging market stocks. The fund will draw upon the local expertise of HDFC AMC, SLI’s joint venture partner and one of the leading investment managers on the sub-continent.
