LORD TURNER is conducting a last-minute charm offensive on employers and insurers, just a week before his Pensions Commission releases its report on the solution to Britain's pensions crisis, according to the Times.
The commission’s chairman has spoken to the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and is expected to meet Sir Digby Jones, the Director-General of the CBI, and other key stakeholders in coming days to sell some of the more controversial aspects of his report, says the paper. Employers are expected to object to the commission’s suggestion that they match workers’ pension contributions up to 3% of salary.
