Back to school for ITs directors

Directors of investment trusts will be encouraged to take part in training workshops co-hosted by the Association of Investment Trust Companies, as part of its response to calls for improved directorships of funds.

The two-day courses cover issues such as accounting, tax and the role of the audit committee. They also work as a sort of talking-shop, enabling directors with different backgrounds to compare experiences and ways of running the funds. The AITC adds the workshops should be seen in context of maximising the value of investment trust boards to shareholders in the companies. IFAonline
