More than seven in ten people would choose advice from family and friends or over the Internet ahead of an IFA, research suggests.
A poll of more than 2,000 UK adults for Axa found 72% would prefer not to seek professional guidance with 58% choosing instead to manage their finances on their own. In an earlier study, 58% of those opting to run their own money said they would use the Internet for financial advice, while a further 52% would use friends and family members.
