BA limits FTSE gains

The FTSE 100 has ended the day down 16.2 points, or 0.26%, to 6,308, as British Airways suffered from rising oil prices and broker downgrades.

However Vodafone posted the biggest losses with a drop of 4.31% to 135.5p, closely followed by insurer resolution which declined 4.17% to 620.5p, after it announced talks to buy the company had fallen through. British Airways slipped 2.41% to 486p, while man Group declined 1.77% to 555p, and Shire slipped 1.41% to £10.49, although losses were limited by Reuters which added 1.47% to 466p. Centrica posted the biggest gains with a rise of 2.93% to 386.5p, closely followed by Kingfisher which added 278.25p, while Kazakhmys gained 1.83% to £11.71, and Scottish & Southern Energy advanced 1....
