The Pensions Regulator, established by the recent Pensions Act, has provided a first draft code of practice highlighting the importance of people involved in running pension schemes to report breaches of the law.
The code - “Reporting breaches of the law” - also sets out standards of practice expected of statutory reporters, as the whistleblowing system provides a framework for bringing matters to the attention of The Pensions Regulator (TPR). The Department for Work and Pensions in conjunction with the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority (Opra) is leading the development of codes of practice for the Regulator.
