FTSE rises as lower oil prices boost travel group

The FTSE rose 27.5 points, or 0.45%, to 6078.2 this morning as lower oil prices boosted travel group FirstGroup .

The bus and rail travel company rose 21.5 points, or 4.07%, to 549.5. Inter-broker dealer ICAP followed with a rise of 22 points, or 3.85%, to 594 after partnering with Korea Money Brokerage to develop electronic spot foreign exchange trading in Korea. Advertising and marketing services group WPP fell 32.5 points, or 5.16%, to 597.5 after reporting slow growth in March while Antofagasta fell 27.5 points, or 3.4%, to 781. The Dow Jones rose 85.73 points, or 0.67%, to 12848.95 yesterday afternoon as American International Group led gains. The insurer rose 3.11 points, or 7.09%, to 46.97...
