IFAs lack understanding of CI changes

IFAs do not fully understand the implications of the imminent changes to critical illness (CI) cover definitions, according to Progress from Royal Liver.

Initial research conducted by the Royal Liver IFA sales team in June revealed half of advisers within the 15 firms it visited did not fully understand the implications. Andy Milburn, IFA market manager at Royal Liver, believes this figure is an under-estimate of awareness in the IFA community as a whole because the 15 firms it visited were specialist protection businesses. IFAs lacked understanding of what the changes are and how the changes affect new purchases of CI cover.
