Intercontinential Hotels added 56.5 points (7.32%) to 828 after its annual results met expectations, while Antofagasra added 41 points (5.22%) to 826p. London Stock Exchange Group lost 107 points (6.4%) to £15.64, while Cadbury Scheweppes dropped 33 points (5.39%) to 579.5p after announcing disappointing results. On Wall Street, markets opened positively following a long weekend, and the Dow Jones added 71.97 points (0.58%) to 12,420.18.
