Top manager trio launches Occam AM

Well-known fund managers Mark Williams, Phil Cliff and Jon Greenhill have united to help set up a new asset management firm called Occam.

The trio have joined with Jonathan Hughes-Morgan, formerly MD and co-founder of Thames River Capital and David Sheppard, formerly head of Pan Euro sales and trading at SG Corporate and Investment Banking, to launch the firm. Occam AM plans to launch three long/short equity hedge funds, focusing on Asia, Europe and Japan, at the end of November, subject to FSA authorisation. Asian manager Williams joins from F&C where, prior to August 2007, he ran the $700m Pacific Growth fund. Cliff joins as European fund manager from Threadneedle where he managed in excess of €2bn in the Pan Europ...
