Following a strong start to the day, the FTSE 100 closed at -0.47%, having fallen by 28.80 to finish the day at 6058.50.
SABMiller emerged as one of the day’s strongest performers, its shares having jumped by 6.94% amid speculation that the company is currently being eyed up by Anheuser Busch as an alternative option to InBev as a potential merger target. British Airways managed to climb by 4% following a fall of $2 per barrel in the cost of crude oil. The airline is also reported to have added two new Airbus A318s to its fleet. The third biggest climber of the day was Compass Group, rising by 11.5p or 3.18 %, after aided by Credit Suisse upping its price target to 425p from 415p following the group’s res...
