Insurance industry executives believe the savings environment in Britain has improved over the last six months, but there is concern economic and fiscal policies are deterring people from saving.
The latest savings panel survey from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) reveals 48% of the 150 senior executives surveyed believe the savings environment has improved over the last 12 months, compared with 42% in the June 2006 survey. A further 38% believe the savings environment has remained the same and 14% believe it has deteriorated.
