The FTSE 100 Index fell 24.60 points, or 0.4%, to 6,067 points today led by BG Group as oil prices fell.
BG Group declined 2.14% to 753.50p after the price of a barrel of oil fell below $70, down 53 cents, to $69.66, while Antofagasta fell 0.79% to 2,524p. Regal Petroleum plummeted 19.75% to 65p after a court in the Ukraine ruled against its appeal in a battle over ownership of gas fields in the country. At the other end of the spectrum broker comment helped to offset the declines. British Land led the risers, up 1.76% to 1,332p, after Cazenove raised its net asset value forecasts and stuck with its “outperform” advice.
