Winterthur appoints Thompson as MD

Winterthur Life has announced David Thompson, currently director of distribution, is to be the new managing director.

The announcement, “part of a series of planned senior appointments”, follows some organisational restructuring at the two companies at the end of November, which saw Mike Kellard, chief executive of Winterthur, take on AXA’s wealth management businesses, in addition to Winterthur’s own high net worth business. As a result of the increased remit for Kellard, Winterthur has appointed Thompson to the newly-created role in order to further develop its “specialist product and service adviser proposition”.
