Many members will be disappointed with defined contribution schemes due to lack of knowledge, industry experts say.
Speaking at a Scottish Widows corporate pensions roundtable last week, Scottish Widows director of corporate pensions John Taylor said occupational DC was largely in its infancy and the industry was still waiting for both employer and employee feedback as to how it had worked. However, Taylor said there would "clearly" be a lot of disappointment from members over the pension they received. He said: "At the moment, we [the industry] have only solved the employers' problem - I am not sure we have yet solved the employees' problem."
