Hotel group boosts FTSE

In the UK the FTSE 100 Index has picked up about 30 points to 5258.50 in its morning session, led by Hilton Group.

The Hotel chain has added 8.25p to 318.25p, after an 8.1% increase in its share price target by analysts. Betting firm William Hill has also advanced 11.5p to 582.5p after analysts increased the firm’s profit target. Property group Liberty International has retreated 8p to 955.5p, along with Smiths Group losing 4.5p to 897p. In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 Stock Average hit back after its biggest fall in two months yesterday, adding 1.2% to 12,453.14 at its close early this morning, after oil prices traded below a record high.
