Financial advisers have reacted strongly to suggestions from the Financial Services Authority intermediaries are "frightened" of depolarisation.
David Kenmir, head of investment firms at the FSA, yesterday sparked widespread shouts from the audience at at the LIA's annual conference "we‘re not frightened" after he told audience members listening to a ‘Question Time’ panel session he "didn’t know what [they] are all frightened of" in relation to depolarisation. His comments followed a poll conducted at the Life Insurance Association annual conference revealing 70% of delegates believe depolarisation will benefit neither the adviser nor the consumer when introduced.
