Independent Absolute Return sector welcomed

Industry figures have welcomed the launch of an independent Absolute Return sector.

They say the Trustnet’s alternative fund category provides a more useful “universe of comparison” as Absolute Return products currently sit in the IMA’s UK All Companies sector. Trustnet’s says the sector has been devised by Financial Express so retail investors and advisers can view and compare funds with similar goals. The IMA has rejected calls for a separate Absolute Return sector claiming there is not enough support for the idea.
