Pensions Bill poses threat to current schemes

The Pensions Bill could harm existing pension provision if passed without amendment, says Standard Life.

The provider says existing pension schemes will suffer if the Government fails to make exemptions from personal accounts clear. In comments ahead of the Bill’s second reading due today, Standard Life says EU law makes auto enrolment difficult. It urges the Government to consider the advantages of introducing auto enrolment through contracts of employment for new employees.
