The Savings and Retirement Account (SaRA) best addresses retirement savings needs by providing transparency, flexibility, portability, choice and simplicity, according to the Pep & Isa Managers' Association (Pima).
Tony Vine-Lott, director-general of Pima, states: “By allowing the creation of a long-term savings wrapper, such as the SaRA, the Government and the industry would go a long way to address the fundamental concerns of people regarding their long-term savings.” The comments come after Association of British Insurers (ABI) and Investment Management Association (IMA) submitted their alternative proposals to the National Pension Savings Scheme (NPSS) to the Government on Friday, responding to a challenge made by Stephen Timms, Minister for Pensions Reform, in December.
