FTSE down on Dow Jones slump

In the UK the FTSE 100 Index slumped 64.50 points to 4827.10 points at its close a short while ago, influenced mainly by the Friday performance of the US benchmark.

The largest pubs operator, Enterprise Inns led the drop, down 26p to 768p, while mobile operator O2 shed 3.50p to 115.25p. Producer of heating and plumbing products, Wolseley also lost 33p to £10.87. ITV meanwhile, picked up 1.25p to 125.75p after a report that former BBC director general Greg Dyke will soon make a £6bn bid for the group. Yell Group also profited 1.25p to 417.75p. In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average seems condemned to slipping under the 10,000 mark, dropping a further 54 points to 10,033.74 points in its morning session.
