Friends Provident has appointed Jim Smart, who was chief financial officer of Boots before its merger with Alliance Unichem, as its new finance director, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Friends Provident said Smart would join the firm on 13 November and join the board on 1 January, taking over from Philip Moore, reports the paper. The firm announced in June Moore would succeed Keith Satchell as chief executive from 1 January.
