Advisers are sounding out early warnings regarding the overburden providers face in the 'last-minute' run up to A-Day, 6 April 2006, when the rules of simplifying pensions are implemented.
Ashley Clarke, director of Need An Advisor.com cautions providers administration levels will reach a crescendo come January next year, as advisors would have delayed their requests, leaving things to the last minute. Clarke believes his experience of working for a provider over 10 years as a regional pensions manager before setting up as an IFA has provided him with a fair idea of how the future will play out come A-Day.
