PartyGaming keeps FTSE pushing higher

The FTSE 100 has ended the day's trading up 12.8 points, or 0.23%, at 5,523.8, with Tate & Lyle and PartyGaming leading the gains.

Tate & Lyle was the biggest mover of the day with gains of 40.25p, or 7.64%, to 567p, buoyed by the news of the EU's sugar reform deal. PartyGaming also posted some decent gains, advancing 4.25p, or 4.04%, to 109.5p, with Cable and Wireless following close behind with a jump of 2.5p, or 2.07%, to 123.5p. Elsewhere, British American Tobacco was the biggest faller, dropping 46p, or 3.51%, to 1,264p, after yesterday's downgrade to 'hold' from 'buy' by broker Dresdner Kleinwort.
