Both the National Association of Pension Funds and Alan Johnson, secretary of state for Work and Pensions have supported a report issued earlier this week by a Government-commissioned Employer Task Force.
The NAPF said ideas raised by the group mirrored many of their own recommendations regarding pensions reform, while adding further weight behind an effort to provide more aid for employers and company pension schemes. NAPF chief executive, Christine Farnish, said the report added to a growing feeling towards the ‘simplification of Britain’s arcane pension system,’ aswell as for better incentives by employers to maximise the take-up of pensions in the workplace.
