Only 17% of retired UK couples have sought financial advice despite average savings and assets worth almost £270,000, research suggests.
A study conducted by Prudential found retiree couples are sitting on nest eggs worth an average of £269,479, not including their pensions. It says single pensioners have average savings and assets of £134,739, but Prudential says most people are failing to make their money work for them. In a separate study the firm conducted among over 4,000 UK pensioners, only 17% had seen a financial adviser for guidance on maximising their income.
