Tate & Lyle tops FTSE winners

The FTSE gained 24.80 points, or 0.37%, this morning, opening at 6714.9p.

Tate & Lyle was among the morning’s winners after rising 18.5 points, or 2.15%, to 572.5p. Kazakhmys soared 28 points, or 2.15%, to £13.33p. Rexam increased by nine points, or 1.76%, to 521.5p. Antofagasta jumped 11.5 points, or 1.73%, to 675.p. BHP Billington rose 26 points, or 1.72%, to £15.42. Persimmon and Next topped the losers’ list after both dropping 18 points. Persimmon fell 1.48% to £11.96 while Next fell 0.89% to £19.99. Intercon Hotel lost 13 points, or 1%, opening at £12.85.
