The Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Association of Independent Financial Advisers (Aifa) have published an updated version of their factsheet on contracting out.
The factsheet, Pensions and contracting-out: important information, was first issued in October 2004 and is designed to help consumers decide whether to remain contracted-out of the State Second Pension (S2P). ABI member companies will start sending the factsheet out this month to all their contracted-out customers. The factsheet says: Customers should review their decision to contract-out each year; The decision to contract-out or not should be based on issues such as a customer’s preference for state versus private provision and the added flexibility that contracting out provides...
