New Star welcomes new Tri-Star manager

Edward Collins will take over the equity mandate of the New Star Tri-Star fund later in 2007. Until then, he will co-manage the equity part of the fund with current manager Stephen Whittaker.

New Star says Collins’ appointment is in recognition of his strong track record managing UK equities. He has worked closely with Stephen Whittaker, Tim Steer, Patrick Evershed, Jamie Allsopp and James Ridgewell during his time at New Star and has returned top quartile performance as lead manager of the New Star UK Dynamic fund, a sub-fund of the New Star Dublin OEIC.
