FTSE in decline ahead of rate decision

The FTSE 100's mid-week revival appears to be short-lived as the index fell again in early trading this morning, down 40.49 points, or 1.11%, to 3,605.38 at 8.45am.

Admiral - Britain's third-biggest car insurance provider - suffered the largest drop in price despite reporting an 11% rise in full-year pre-tax profits to a record £202.5m earlier in the week. The firm's price dropped by 5.25% to 857.00 after it announced plans to start operations in the United States. Rolls Royce Group also took a big hit in early trading, its price falling 2.37% to 277.75 after reports luxury car sales had begun to slow in over Asia.
