Standard Life has named David Nish, formerly of Scottish Power, as its new finance director, says the Daily Telegraph.

Alison Reed stepped down from the insurer after 15 months amid speculation she had been ousted, though chief executive Sandy Crombie praised her for having "done a fantastic job". Nish was finance director at Scottish Power from 1999-2005, then executive director of its infrastructure division until September last year when the position was axed. F&C ASSET Management has reported a further fall in assets under management after it lost institutional mandates in the three months to September, reports the Scotsman.
