F&C to form China joint venture with Hua Xia Bank

F&C Investments is seeking to build its fund distribution in China with an agreement in principle with Hua Xia Bank to form a joint venture fund management company in China.

F&C established its first Asian office in Hong Kong earlier this year. Hua Xia Bank has a presence in 19 of China’s 22 provinces, with 294 outlets in 31 cities. Alvin Chua, F&C’s head of distribution and business development for Asia, commented: “Hua Xia is a highly respected and successful bank and the proposed joint venture company will give us a foothold in a vast and fast-growth market with 1.3 billion potential customers.
