Demand for alternative investment opportunities drives growth at Investec

Ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWIs) are demanding increasingly creative alternative investment opportunities, according to Investec Private Bank.

It said UHNWI demand for non-traditional investments had considerably contributed to the continued increase in the funds under management. During the past 12 months Investec has seen 56% growth in assets under management of its investment consulting business and is anticipating similar growth in new assets to over £1.7bn over the next 15 months. According to Investec Private Bank, a growing number of sophisticated investors are turning to non-traditional asset types and are seeking specialised investment opportunities, such as private equity, Investec preparatory balance sheet deal flow...
