Pacific Investment Management Co has launched Pimco ETFs, its inaugural ETF platform. The first ETF offering on this platform is the Pimco 1-3 Year US Treasury Index Fund, tracking the Merrill Lynch 1-3 Year Treasury Index. The fund primarily invests in US Treasury Securities backed by the US government. The securities, which have maturities ranging from one to three years, have lower price fluctuations compared to longer-dated bonds, although these will generally have higher yields than Treasury bills and other short-term instruments.
