Deutsche Bank's db x-trackers has announced the launch of its first commodity exchange traded fund (ETF) on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The ETF is based on the Deutsche Bank Liquid Commodity Index - Optimum Yield (DBLCI - OY Balanced). The index gives investors access to the performance of a basket of 14 commodities futures contracts, weighted with 35% energy; 18% base metals; 17% precious metals; and 30% agriculture.
