Delay in LTC regulation In May 1998, it was confirmed that regulation of long term care (LTC) products had been delayed until at least 2000. The Secretary of the Treasury, Helen Liddell, confirmed the Government had no plans to extend the scope of regulation to any other areas than to retail banking and non-life insurance business until at least after the millennium. Also reported that month was a new framework contract to improve the relationship between providers and users of LTC in the home had been drawn up by the Continuing Care Conference.
