Transfer delays remain a prominent issue in the UK pensions space, with individuals continuing to face delays due to slow processes exacerbated by regulatory barriers.
Whitehall Group director Richard Mattison told PA that where transfers were once typically completed within weeks, more complex ones now frequently take months – if they are processed at all. In some instances, he said, providers have rejected transfers before fully reviewing submitted documentation. In other cases, Mattison set out that providers have repeated information requests months into the process, further compounding delays.
